Promotional Currency agrees, and we’re helping kick off his Cabo Wabo tequila promotion on July 15th with all our glasses raised. After all, Bon Appetit magazine named Cabo Wabo brand of tequila as one of the top three in the world, a distinction earned relatively soon after Sammy created the drink in 1996 from his haven in Mexico.
The on-pack music download cards carry codes for five tunes each and will be on the original-designed Cabo Wabo bottles – and in the spirit of uniqueness that’s truly Sammy’s, the custom guitar-pick shaped cards will ensure that his fans can croon Why Can’t This Be Love even if they Can’t Drive 55. With card in hand, consumers will visit the custom landing page that has the added functionality of age verification, which is an easy feature for us to implement for any of your clients whose products are suited only for consumers over a certain age.
The Red Rocker’s promotion will reach tequila lovers outside of stores as well with Skyy Spirits, the distributor for Cabo Wabo, handing out 1,700 one-song download cards at various outdoor events in New Jersey this summer.

In a promotion that captures live music lovers across a few generations, we’re helping Live Nation give fans the full treatment by underwriting music download giveaways that accompany online concert ticket purchases.
Digital music streams in for Ozzy Osbourne fans as their online ticket purchase not only takes them on the Crazy Train to the 2010 Ozzfest Tour, but also delivers them an email with a code and link to an exclusive digital download album “Scream.”
Likewise, Lady Gaga devotees who buy tickets for her 2011 Monster Ball performance will receive an email with a code that delivers her hit song “Vanity” to their music library.
“There is an unknown response rate to a promotion like this, and we’re helping to limit the liability of potentially thousands of redeemed music codes,” says Cyndi Walker, Promotional Currency’s Operations Director. “Without underwriting, Live Nation’s accountants would have to show the entire liability of these downloads as a negative cost until the download actually expires. With underwriting though, it’s a liability that we can limit by attaching a fixed cost for the client.”
Concert tickets and the bonus digital downloads for Ozzy’s and Lady Gaga’s performances are available at LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster.com, and tour-affiliated ticketing sites.

Promotional Currency recently built a Dynamic Music Store for a major cereal brand that’s helping feed a large-scale promotion with super marketing for the company. The in-pack card features the special site with a code to access free music.
